As the default of internet explorer, every time you try to view a website with password protected, you are asked to enter the password. If you click to select the Save this password in your password list check box in this dialog box, the computer saves your password so that you do not have to type the password again when you try to use the same document. This behavior is known as password caching. This is good for most of the time and saves our time to enter the password, but it, sometimes, causes the security problem, that is, someone can log in the website with the password saved. For security reason, you would better disable password caching. The following are the steps:

1. Click Start.
2. Click Run.
3. Type regedit and click OK.
4. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

5. On the Edit menu, click New, and then click DWORD Value. 6. Type DisablePasswordCaching to name the new registry entry, and then press ENTER.
7. Right-click DisablePasswordCaching, and then click Modify.
8. Make sure that the Hexadecimal option button is selected, type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
9. Close Registry Editor.
