How to disable windows xp log in / enable auto logon?

To disable the windows xp login, take the following steps:

 
1. Click on "Start" --> "Run".

2. type in "control userpasswords2" and press Enter.

3. Uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."

4. Click "Apply" and "Ok".

Note: for Windows XP Home, do not try to auto-login as the built-in Administrator. You will get an error message.
